Spring Writing Conference

The UNC Charlotte College of Education and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences are pleased to support the Writing Project as it hosts its annual Spring Writing Conference on Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the UNC Charlotte Cone University Center. This year’s keynote speaker is Dr. Katie Stover Kelly, Professor at Furman University, and author of From Pencils to Podcasts: Digital Tools for Transforming K-6 Literacy Practices. Concurrent sessions will take place throughout the day. Attendees will receive 7 hours of contact hours or 0.7 continuing education units (CEUs) in conjunction with your attendance.
Participants will have the opportunity to receive a full 1.0 CEU (10 hours) upon completion of a homework assignment. Teachers and administrators from across multiple disciplines are invited to attend. For more information about the conference, please contact Dr. Heather Coffey at hcoffey@uncc.edu.

Thank you for your interest in the Spring Writing Conference, April 27, 2017 at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte Cone University Center from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Pre-registration is now closed. On-site registration will be accepted on the day of the event.
*Participants must attend all programming, April 27, in its entirety to receive continuing education units or CEUs. No CEUs will be awarded for partial attendance. Attendees are eliglble to receive 0.7 CEUs or 7 contact hours for full participation. Participants will have the opportunity to receive a full 1.0 CEU (10 hours) upon completion of a homework assignment. Students will have to register as a “Professional” to receive CEUs. No partial CEUs or contact hours shall be given.

About the Writing Project
As part of the National Writing Project, the UNC Charlotte Writing Project has been providing a place for teachers to come together to share experiences of teaching writing and to learn how to better teach writing since 1979.
Through a variety of systematic and ongoing professional development programs, the NWP provides a place for teachers of all disciplines and all grade levels to participate in the widely acclaimed NWP where teachers teach teachers.
